Visiting Pivotal Labs in Japan
SOMESING has been visiting Pivotal Labs in Tokyo to launch high-quality and competitive services last week.
Do you remember the workshop story with Pivotal Labs last time?
Pivotal Labs is a global software consulting firm that builds product competitiveness through development collaboration based on the development methodology of Agile & Lean.
In other words, it’s easy to imagine that companies (especially start-ups) that is launching products or services are working together to create better services by learning Pivotal’s development expertise and capabilities.
Pivotal’s clients include global companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, Airbnb, and Snapchat.
At Pivotal, SOMESING team participated in the day-to-day routine at the stand-up meeting at 9:06 am. Why is it that 9:03 am is the experiential time of Pivotal, and all the Pivotal employees around the world are doing a stand up meeting at 9:06 pm.
After the stand-up meeting, the staff went into pair programming, but the SOMESING team had time to introduce and understand the service of SOMESING with the Pivotal staff. It was a meeting for scoping to discuss what kind of cooperation we could do with Pivotal in order to launch SOMESING’s service more competitively and fully.
The attitude of the Pivotal people who actively sympathize and understand was impressive and the SOMESING team was also able to rethink and observe the essence of our service during this process.
It was time to sort out the problem of our service that each thinks by using post-it, and prioritize and categorize it. Through this process, we were able to understand and sympathize each other’s thoughts.
