SOMESING starts its journey as the first penguin of commercialization
SOMESING, widely known as “the Killer DApp” in the blockchain industry, finally released its main-net version on the 19th of November 2019. The main-net service was officially launched on ICON Main-net, switching from the test-net of previous beta service.
SOMESING CEO Heuibae Kim said on the release of the official application, “we have actively reflected the opinions of our beta users for several improvements of functions and have put in great efforts to stabilize the service with higher capacity to hold users.”
SOMESING is widely known as “the Killer Dapp” in the South Korean blockchain industry in that it has achieved over 150,000 downloads and 70,000 active users within 6 months of beta testing. SOMESING was first brought into the public’s attention when it was announced as the “Final Winner” of ‘Block Battle Season 2,’ a start-up competition held by PAX Economy TV. Over 100 companies have competed for the title of “Real-Life Blockchain technology” to lead the way of blockchain commercialization. It is noteworthy that SOMESING has already solved legal compliance issues such as copyright and music resources, with blockchain applied to remove the barrier of a paid service.
Kim also mentioned SOMESING’s roadmap for the future in that “SOMESING is currently in discussions with various entertainment-related businesses, ranging from Entertainment Labels as well as Broadcasting stations to further promote and activate the social music service that SOMESING provides. We hope to lead the way of commercialization of blockchain with music and disrupt the industry as not simply a Killer Dapp, but as a Killer Application.”
