SOMESING signed a strategic MOU with ‘SL Studio’ to expand its ‘audition’ business.

On May 18, SOMESING, social mobile karaoke platform, has announced that it signed an strategic partnership with ‘SL Studio’, which has been running a K-Pop training academy in Korea, to expand ‘Audition’ related on/offline business.

Through this agreement, SOMESING and SL Studio will cooperate on various on/offline business expansion, including the selection of the primary group of candidates who can apply for academy’s offline training as well as applying for an audition to get into various entertainment agencies through specific audition menus within the SOMESING platform.

Lee Sol-Lim, a director of SL Studio, who discovered and trained various idol singers including ‘Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation’ and ‘Onew of SHINee’ as the former head of the SM Entertainment Academy, said, “SL Studio, which discovers and educates rookies and grows them into real entertainers, is currently conducting audition projects in conjunction with a number of large and small entertainment agencies.

This partnership with SOMESING will provide convenience to rookies who want to become artists and provide opportunities for rookie search teams and casting directors of agencies to find the potential singers and artists more easily while eliminating the hassle of the audition that has been limited to offline or platforms such as YouTube.”

Kim Heui-Bae, a CEO of SOMESING, mentioned, “There are so many ordinary people who are really good at singing in SOMESING. Although there have been difficulties in identifying users’ actual singing skills in other apps due to poor sound quality, I think SOMESING’s technological advancement in sound quality has a point that can help cast directors to find many of these talented singers in SOMESING.”

Kim also explained, “In particular, I believe that this partnership with SL Studio will be able to easily discover these ordinary but talented people and evolve into a platform that will lead to the agency’s discovery of new talent, and in the future, it will be expanded to audition for music programs, which are widely broadcast in Korea. Actually, a certain cable TV program is actually discussing online/mobile audition for the music program with SOMESING”.

Meanwhile, within the SOMESING App, an “Audition Event “ is being held for SOMESING users hoping to be artists for about 10 days from May 18 through the festival menu.
