SOMESING, a Global Social Karaoke App, agrees on content collaboration with TJ’s YouTube channel holding 830K subscribers.
SOMESING, the world’s first blockchain-based social karaoke app service, will cooperate with the “TJ YouTube Karaoke” channel operated by TJ Media, Korea’s №1 off-line karaoke device manufacturing and on-line music content production/distribution company.
An official of TJ Communications, a subsidiary of TJ Media’s online/mobile business unit, said, “TJ’s YouTube Karaoke Channel was launched in 2013 and has been providing users with various genres of karaoke music produced by TJ Media through YouTube channels. As of May 2020, we have more than 830,000 subscribers, have accumulated more than 750 million views since the opening of the channel, and have been steadily loved and growing by many people who love songs, with more than 20 million views per month.”
Regarding this content collaboration with SOMESING, a TJ official said, “We expect the online/mobile content business to gain more attention in the future due to the rapid spread of the ‘Untact Culture’ following the recent global pandemic of COVID-19. Accordingly, TJ decided to create a new menu called “TJ Karaoke Cover Song Legend” within its official YouTube channel, which has been operated by TJ to provide a platform for promoting content by various creators, and to distribute profits generated from YouTube fairly and transparently to creators on the content. TJ and SOMESING have been maintaining a strong partnership since the signing of the music resource supply contract in 2018, and by agreeing to this content partnership, we expect that various music-related content created through SOMESING’s mobile platform in the future will also be able to entertain many subscribers through the ‘TJ YouTube Channel’,” he added.
Kim Heui Bae, CEO of SOMESING, said, “Since COVID-19’s global pandemic issue, the number of registered users of SOMESING has increased sharply since late March, with up to six times more users signing up for the service than the existing daily average, with the number of daily content currently at around 3,000, of which 1,100 to 1,200 content are posted on the platform to be shared with other global users. Unexpectedly diverse forms of content, including general cover songs as well as instrument performances such as guitar/piano, dance, mimic songs, self-composed rap and beatbox, are being created by SOMESING creators, and I am pleased to utilize these contents to strategically participate in the ‘TJ Karaoke Cover Song Legend’ project.”
